I am humbled and proud to have worked with and led the incredible art team at Iron Galaxy Studios as the lead artist on this project.

My work here included creating textures and setting up a SBSAR, which I handed off to the talented Desiree Gerlach

to use in the texture and model of the final art for Outfit 2's pair of shorts for Zion Wright and Create-A-Skater.

The workflow process was a mix of a lot of trial and error. Extensive photo reference was given to the patchwork of Zion's shorts, which was then processed in Photoshop to extract individual patches. In the end, there were more than 50 patches that were run through Substance Sampler to create individual material SBSARs. Each patch SBSAR was then processed in Substance Designer and run through several atlas generators. These atlas generators were then run through splatter nodes to create variation in rotation, scale, and placement. Extra functionality was added and exposed to create multiple layers of patches, achieving the built-up patch look and feel.

Bam's perforated leather scarf was an unexpected addition to the project I was tasked with. A SBSAR was created for the lead character artist to tile and manipulate the pattern on the final texture set for Bam's outfit.
